KOCHI: A restaurant owner allegedly attacked a cook with a knife after complaining that the food lacked taste. The injured has been identified as Riyas, a native of Kollam who works at Meen Vilasam restaurant in Angamaly. The accused, Muhammad Ubais, is one of the restaurant's co-owners.
According to the police, the incident took place after Ubais arrived at the restaurant for a meal. While eating, he complained that the fish fry lacked salt and flavour. A heated argument broke out after Riyas reportedly told him that the poor taste was caused by a malfunctioning freezer that had not yet been repaired. Police said Ubais then allegedly followed Riyas into the kitchen and attacked him with a kitchen knife.
Riyas suffered an injury to his hand. He was treated at a nearby hospital and later returned home. The Angamaly Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
