Man kills drug addicted son in Idukki

IDUKKI: In a shocking incident, a man beat his drug addicted son to death. The dead has been identified as Justin Joseph (28) of Aanakkulam Udumbikkal. Soon after the incident, Justin’s father Joy Joseph consumed poison. Police said that he tried to commit suicide after killing his son. The incident happened Wednesday morning at 11 am.

Police said Justin regularly causes problems at home. Fearing this, the parents had been staying at the homes of relatives. This morning too, there was an argument between the father and son. Following the dispute, Justin’s father beat him on his head with an iron rod kept in the shed adjoining the house. Justin died on the spot itself. He then tried to end his life by consuming poison. He has been shifted to the Adimali Taluk Hospital for treatment. Police said further legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway.
