Youth arrested for blackmailing woman with nude video call screenshots

KANNUR: A 39-year-old youth has been arrested for threatening a woman and forcing her to make a nude video call. The arrested has been identified as Lijesh of Thimiri at Pariyaram in Kannur. Lijesh took screenshots of the video call and later threatened the woman with that and demanded money.

Police said Lijesh established a close relationship with the woman. He then coerced her to make a nude video call and secretly took screenshots without her knowledge. He then threatened to circulate the nude images and demanded money from her. Unable to endure the repeated threats, the woman approached the police and filed a complaint.

After recording the woman’s statement, police arrested Lijesh. The police found that Lijesh had sent the woman’s nude images to some of his friends via WhatsApp, during investigation. The police are also investigating whether he had similarly threatened anyone else and extorted money from them.
