Chandy Oommen, MLA and son of former chief minister Oommen Chandy, has expressed his desire to see his father's life adapted into a movie. He revealed this in an interview given to actor and director Nadirshah. He opined that the film should be titled ‘Oommen Chandy’ and Mammootty would be the ideal choice to portray his father.
‘I want to make a film, named after my father. I would like his life journey to be portrayed in a movie titled Oommen Chandy. I think it would be wonderful if Mammootty played his role. One of the reasons for considering such a project is to raise funds for the charitable activities of the foundation established in my father's name. A film can also help preserve and record his legacy in history,’ Chandy Oommen said.
When asked whether he is interested in acting in films, he replied that he could think about it and might even be willing to play villain roles if required. He added that someone should first invite him to act. Nadirshah said that if invited to act, should not back out saying he was too busy. The videos of Chandy Oommen had gone viral on social media during election time, showing him cool and relaxed. Responding to this, Chandy said that he is always like that by nature.
