
NEW DELHI: Union Minister George Kurian has stepped down from the Council of Ministers after his Rajya Sabha term came to an end. President Droupadi Murmu has accepted his resignation. George Kurian was Minister of State in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. There are hints that he will be given the charge of the organization.
Kurian has informed the central leadership his interest in working in Kerala. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2024. He was a Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh. He had contested from Kanjirappally in the last assembly elections, but lost. He had served as BJP state vice-president, national executive committee member, core committee member and party spokesperson.
