PALAKKAD: Education Minister N Shamsudeen said that additional seats and batches will be allowed for Plus One in Malappuram and Palakkad. He said that there may be a shortage of seats in Palakkad and Malappuram after the third allotment. Necessary steps will be taken soon to resolve this, clarified the minister.
Meantime, Shamsudeen said there is a practical difficulty in giving teachers the freedom to check the bags of the students. Students cannot be corrected by scolding and punishing them. If teachers are allowed to check students, it may be misused.
The minister also responded to the PM SHRI issue. The minister said the previous government signed the PM SHRI and the opposition's aim is to hide its embarrassment.
Shamsudeen informed that a cabinet sub-committee will decide whether to approach the court to cancel the PM SHRI agreement. The minister also alleged that the previous government had signed an agreement that unilaterally gave all rights to the central government. In the present situation, there are no conditions to cancel this agreement, said the minister.
