Arjun’s wife appointed clerk in Vengeri Service Co-operative Bank

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Wife of Arjun, who went missing in the landslide at Shirur, has been appointed as clerk in a cooperative bank. She will be appointed as junior clerk/cashier post in Vengeri Service Co-operative Bank. The order regarding it (GO number 169/2024 Cooperative 29-8-2024) was issued by the Co-operative Department, said Minister V N Vasavan.

The government has taken the decision to implement the decision of the governing body based on the rinciple of social responsibility by providing relaxations in the law. The minister said that the purpose of the cooperative movement is to help common people.

Arjun’s brother-in-law Jithin (sister’s husband) had met the Karnataka Chief Minister last night with a demand to resume the search for Arjun with the use of dredging machines. M K Raghavan MP, Manjeswaram MLA A K M Ashraf and Karwar MLA Satish Sail were also present with Jithin.

The vehicle can be obtained only by bringing the dredging machine and removing the soil. The Government of Karnataka was of the stand that they don’t have the fund to bring the dredger. Jithin said that he met the chief minister with the demand to find Arjun. The family had criticized the Uttara Kannada district administration for delaying the resumption of the mission.

Arjun went missing on July 16 in the landslide on the Panavel-Kanyakumari highway at Shirur in Dakshina Kannada. Arjun was coming from Belgaum to Edavanna with timber on July 15.
