Car catches fire while on the move in Alappuzha, four-member family escapes

ALAPPUZHA: A car carrying a four-member family caught fire while travelling along the Thattarambalam-Mannar State Highway. The occupants escaped after noticing smoke and sparks inside the vehicle. The car was completely gutted in the fire. The incident occurred around 10.45 pm on Monday near Arattumukku in Chennithala Thripperumthura. The family, natives of Chettikulangara in Mavelikkara, was returning after attending a wedding function in Mannar.

The occupants noticed small sparks and smoke emerging from inside the car and immediately stopped the vehicle and got out. The fire then spread rapidly through the car.
Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Mavelikkara reached the spot and completely extinguished the fire. Mannar police also arrived at the scene.
The incident disrupted traffic on the Chennithala-Thattarambalam road for several hours. Traffic was restored after the fire was completely extinguished.
