THRISSUR: Another case has been registered against YouTuber Helen of Sparta, alias Dhanya Harshid, for her derogatory remarks against transwoman Deepti Kalyani. The cyber police registered the case based on a complaint received by Thrissur City Police Commissioner.
Dhanya shared a video on social media in which she allegedly insulted Deepti Kalyani and her friend a few days ago. The video contained harsh remarks against Deepti. Dhanya also alleged that Deepti and her friend were misleading the younger generation.
Deepti Kalyani filed a complaint with the Thrissur City Police Commissioner against Dhanya soon after the video went viral. Deepti in her complaint alleged that Dhanya had made unwarranted remarks about her personal life and family. Six sections have been invoked against Dhanya. The case has been registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, the Kerala Police Act, and the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act.
The police had registered a case against Dhanya for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in last July. Following that, the Motor Vehicles Department had suspended her driving licence.
