THRISSUR: More information have emerged in the case where a youth murdered his wife and minor son by slitting their throats in Valappad Beach. The accused, Vijesh of Thekkiniyedath, killed his wife, Vismaya (27), and their son, Daksh (4), before attempting suicide. Vijesh, who is in a critical condition, is presently undergoing treatment at the Thrissur Government Medical College Hospital.

Vismaya’s mother said there had been no domestic disputes in the house. She also said that Vijesh had no habit of drinking or any other bad habits, and so there were no issues. She said the killings were triggered by suspicion.

‘She used to go out with male friends, and he did not like it. However, he never told her beforehand not to do so. She would go wherever she wanted.

Saw Vijesh eating rice Wednesday night. After eating pathiri, Vismaya went to her room with the child. Vijesh then locked the room and murdered the two. She said she came rushing after hearing her daughter’s call and then the room was locked from outside and soon Vismaya’s brother Kannan came and broke opened the door.

Let him do whatever he did to her, but what hurts me the most is that he killed that innocent little child as well. What did that four-and-a-half-year-old child do? He could have handed over the child to me. What a heartless, evil monster he is! He could have asked me to look after the child, but he didn't do that.

Vijesh is very dear to both me and my son. We, too, had objected to Vismaya’s friendships and her going out. Her brother had even beaten her. He used to tell her not to upset her husband and that she should go out only when necessary. Vismaya would then say, ‘I will go. My friends are more important to me,’ said Vismaya’s mother.
