PATHANAMTHITTA: Pathanamthitta District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB) CI T.K. Vinod Krishna has been suspended following a complaint by a 28-year-old woman alleging that he sexually assaulted her on the promise of marriage and made her pregnant. The action was taken by Inspector General (IG) R. Nishanthini.
According to the complaint, Vinod Krishna had promised to marry the woman after obtaining a divorce from his wife. However, he later backed out of the promise, prompting the woman to approach senior police officers with a complaint.
The two reportedly became close when Vinod Krishna was serving as the CI of Elavumthitta police station. During the Assembly election period, he was transferred to Thiruvananthapuram. He later called the woman to the capital and lived with her there.
The woman also alleged that he took her along when he travelled to Hyderabad in connection with a case investigation. She said she became pregnant during this period.
In her statement to the investigating officers, the woman said she did not want a criminal case to be registered against the CI. However, there are indications that a case may be registered against him.
