College student dies after falling from bus while trying to retrieve shoe in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: An 18-year-old college student met with a tragic end after falling from a private bus in Palakkad. The incident took place near the Mallikkal bus stop in Kongad on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Gauri G Krishna, a second-year BSc Chemistry student at Yuvakshetra College in Mundur and a native of Kongad.

According to reports, Gauri's shoe came off and fell from the bus as she was boarding it to go to college. She reportedly tried to get down to retrieve the shoe when the bus started moving. She fell from the vehicle and was run over by it.

Although Gauri was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Palakkad, her life could not be saved. She was the daughter of M P Gopikrishnan and Beena.
