Couple's suicide attempt: Complainant in alleged false rape case attempts suicide

KOCHI: A woman who is the complainant in an alleged false rape case attempted suicide by jumping into a well, hours after a couple attempted suicide inside an ambulance after accusing her of implicating them in the false case.

The incident occurred at around 10 pm on Tuesday at her husband's house in Kurumasery. Relatives and local residents, alerted by the commotion, rushed to the spot and informed the Fire and Rescue Services. Fire personnel from Angamaly rescued the woman from the well and shifted her to a private hospital in Angamaly. She is reported to be out of danger.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, Binu (35) and his wife, Bincy (33), residents of Pipeline Road in Aluva, allegedly attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills after parking their ambulance in front of the Kerala High Court. Binu remains in critical condition.

The woman who attempted suicide was formerly employed at the ambulance service run by Binu in Aluva and is the complainant in the alleged rape case.
