Wedding visit ends in tragedy; Four dead, one seriously injured after car rams into tree in Kannur

KANNUR: Four people died tragically after a car crashed into a tree in Chalode in Kannur. The accident occurred around midnight on Friday. The victims were identified as Param Chhetri, Harsh, Rizwan and Shan. Another person is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kannur with serious injuries. The fire force reached the spot and cut open the car to bring out the injured. It is learnt that two of the victims are Malayalees, while Param is from Uttar Pradesh.

The victims were people from Bengaluru who were in Kerala to attend a wedding. One person died on the spot. Three people were taken to a private hospital in Chalode but could not be saved. The bodies are kept at the district hospital. It is suspected that the driver may have fallen asleep while at the wheel. The car was destroyed in the accident. The locals who heard the loud noise of the crash first carried out the rescue operation. According to locals, accidents are common in this area.
