Garbage dumped on lorry stand to stylize Nava Kerala Sadas venue

KOLLAM: Some reports stated that the garbage cleared for setting the site for ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ was dumped into a lorry stand in Eravipuram consistently. 75 loads of garbage collected from the cantonment ground, the location of the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ site, was shifted to the lorry stand near the Food Corporation of India godown.

For many years, the garbage which was collected by the sanitation workers of the corporation used to be dumped on the cantonment grounds. According to reports, the garbage has now been shifted to the lorry stand since Tuesday, minding the approaching NKS event.

Normally there would have been more the 65 Lorries placed at the stand. Now, due to the piling of garbage, all these heavy vehicles are parked on the roadside, obstructing road travel. According to reports, after dumping the garbage on the lorry stand, the leftover plastic wastes are being buried on the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ venue by corporation workers.
