ALAPPUZHA: In view of the Mannarasala Ayilyam and the Parumala Church Perunnal, which are two of the most deeply revered spiritual festivals in Central Kerala, the District Collector declared a holiday tomorrow (Monday, November 2) for government offices and educational institutions in Alappuzha district. There will be no change to previously scheduled examinations.

Meanwhile, the 'Ayilyam Ezhunnallathu' (procession) at Mannarasala—one of the prominent temples dedicated to the Serpent God (Nagaraja) in Kerala—will take place tomorrow at 1:00 PM. The rituals will be conducted under the leadership of the temple's 'Valiyamma' (head priestess), Savithri Antharjanam. Thousands of devotees participated in the 'Pooyam Thozhal' rituals held today, which precede the Ayilyam festival.
