Holiday for government offices in Alappuzha tomorrow ahead of Nehru Trophy Boat Race

ALAPPUZHA: The district collector has declared a holiday tomorrow for government institutions in Alappuzha district in connection with the Nehru Trophy Boat Race. All offices of the Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL) in the district will also remain closed tomorrow, and cash counters will not function. Authorities said electricity bill payments can be made through online modes. Necessary arrangements will be ensured to avoid power disruptions, they added.

Meanwhile, 71 boats will compete in this year's Nehru Trophy Boat Race in various categories. The chundan category alone has 22 boats.
The races will begin at 11 am tomorrow, with the heats for smaller boats scheduled first. The heats for chundan boats and the finals for smaller boats will be held after the inaugural ceremony at 2 pm.
