THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prominent space scientist and former ISRO Chairman S. Somanath will receive the National Award instituted by the N. Ramachandran Foundation. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a memento, and a certificate of appreciation. The award was established in memory of veteran journalist N. Ramachandran, who served as the Editorial Advisor of Kerala Kaumudi.
Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan will present the award at a memorial meeting scheduled for Monday. The event will be held at 4 pm at the Illam Hall of Trivandrum Club.
Foundation President Prabhavarma will preside over the function. Prof. Achuth Shankar S. Nair, Vice Chairman of the Higher Education Council, will deliver the memorial speech. Governor’s Secretary K. Vasuki, Kerala Kaumudi Chief Editor Deepu Ravi, Foundation Secretary P. P. James, and former minister Babu Divakaran will also attend and address the event.
