Santa comes early with Rs 25 crore: Kerala's Christmas Bumper to create 24 new crorepatis

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first prize of this year's Christmas-New Year Bumper lottery conducted by the Kerala State Lotteries Department has been increased to Rs 25 crore. This marks an increase of Rs 5 crore from the Rs 20 crore offered until last year. With the first prize being brought on par with that of the Onam Bumper, the department is preparing to offer bigger prizes to lottery enthusiasts.

The bumper lottery, launched as part of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, will be drawn on February 1, 2027. Preliminary steps for distributing tickets through lottery agencies have already begun. The department hopes to sell more tickets than in previous years and earn higher revenue.
