THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department forecasted rain in the state over the next two days. This rainfall is attributed to the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Heavy rain is predicted in isolated areas on September 11 and 12.

A cyclonic circulation previously situated over the northern Bay of Bengal and the Bangladesh coast has intensified into a low-pressure area over the northern Bay of Bengal and adjacent regions. Consequently, a 'Yellow Alert' was issued for the districts of Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam on the 11th, and for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Palakkad on the 12th. This rainfall warning brings relief as the state struggles through intense heat.
