THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: “Even my children asked me, ‘Didn’t the power cuts start after you became the KSEB chairman?’ I explained the circumstances behind the crisis to them as well.”
Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) CMD Dr M G Rajamanickam made the remark while speaking to the media about the ongoing power crisis in the state.
With the power shortage continuing, Rajamanickam urged the public to cooperate by reducing electricity consumption as much as possible. He said higher temperatures caused by the El Niño phenomenon, along with increased power consumption, have further worsened the crisis.
Meanwhile, against the backdrop of the worsening power crisis in the state, Electricity Minister Sunny Joseph has called a high-level meeting today. The meeting, scheduled for 11 am, will be attended by KSEB CMD Dr M G Rajamanickam, directors and senior officials.
