Three-year-old girl's death in Amboori: Mother attempts suicide

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The mother of a three-year-old girl who was killed in a road accident in Amboori has reportedly attempted suicide. Nisha, wife of Aryankode native Anuprasad, was admitted to a private hospital in Kattakkada after the incident. According to hospital sources, she is in a stable condition. Relatives said Nisha had been under severe emotional distress after witnessing the death of her daughter in Sunday's accident.

Three-year-old Rithuveda was killed in the accident on Sunday evening at the Kumbichalkadavu bridge in Amboori. The family had reportedly stopped at the bridge while visiting the area when the vehicle they were travelling in suddenly rolled forward due to an alleged handbrake failure, leading to the fatal accident.

The vehicle ran over the child. Although she was immediately rushed to the hospital, her life could not be saved. The body was handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem examination at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
