Former India cricketer S Sreesanth’s father V Santhakumaran Nair passes away

KOCHI: V. Santhakumaran Nair (89), father of former India cricketer S. Sreesanth, passed away while undergoing treatment at Lisie Hospital in Kochi. He died at 9.44 pm on Friday.

Santhakumaran Nair was a native of the Ambatt Kunnel Tharavadu in Mathirappilly, Kothamangalam. His body is currently kept at the hospital mortuary. It will be taken to the family home in Kothamangalam on Sunday after relatives living abroad arrive.

The body will be kept for public viewing at the ancestral home from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday. The funeral is scheduled to be held around 4 pm.

Santhakumaran Nair is survived by his wife, T.N. Savitri Devi, and children Dipusanth, Niveditha, Divya and cricketer S. Sreesanth. His sons- and daughters-in-law are Kalpana, Captain Sajith, playback singer Madhu Balakrishnan and Duvaneswari.
