KOCHI: The government has informed the High Court that the sexual assault complaint filed by a woman from Ponnani against three police officers, including former Malappuram district police chief S Sujith Das, is false. Sujith Das is currently under suspension due to the allegations raised by PV Anvar MLA.

The report submitted by Malappuram Additional SP Firoz M. Shafeeq stated that the complainant's statements were contradictory. There are discrepancies in the timing and location of the alleged incident. The report also stated that there was insufficient evidence to register a case.

The police gave the explanation in response to the petition filed by the young woman alleging that a case was not registered by the police on her

complaint. The government told the court that if a case is registered based on a false complaint, the morale of the officials will be broken. Their image will be tarnished in public. The government requested the court to dismiss the woman's petition. After completing the hearing, Justice A Badruddin's bench adjourned the case for judgment.
