THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four Students' Federation of India activists were arrested related to the protest conducted at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. The action came after Vice Chancellor Ciza Thomas filed a complaint alleging that students physically and mentally assaulted her. SFI activists Mevin, Yadukrishnan, Basil and Vijeesh were arrested.

Ciza Thomas filed a complaint with the Chief Minister and the Home Minister alleging that a group of students had physically assaulted and mentally tortured her. Ciza Thomas said that the students obstructed her official duties and damaged an official vehicle. The Vice Chancellor alleged in the complaint that students from outside the university were among the attackers.

Ciza Thomas filed the complaint after meeting the Governor. The VC informed the Governor that, though present at the spot, the police showed no urge to protect her or the syndicate members. Ciza Thomas, the VC of the Technical University, also holds the additional charge of Kalady University.
