ED's crucial move in monthly payment case; ECIRs registered against Pinarayi, Mohammed Riyas

KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) registered cases against Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan and Mohammed Riyas in connection with the 'monthly payment’ case. Two separate Enforcement Case Information Reports (ECIRs) have been registered against the duo. This ED move follows the registration of a Vigilance FIR naming Pinarayi Vijayan as the first accused. The investigation will proceed with separate ECIRs registered for the 'monthly payout' case and the hawala case.

The High Court is also set to deliver a verdict on Friday on whether to permit Pinarayi to appeal against the order directing a Vigilance investigation.
