Temperature to rise in daytime today; rain expected in evening

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The temperatures in the state are expected to rise today, with daytime temperatures potentially increasing by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, light rain is expected on Sunday evening in the southern districts of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam.

Yesterday, heavy rain was recorded in some areas of the capital city and Kottayam district. The highest temperatures yesterday were reported in Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram districts. Due to the high temperatures and humid air, people may experience physical discomfort during the day.
