No saree distribution on Priyadarshini scheme's 100th day: Transport Minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Reports claiming that sarees will be distributed at all KSRTC depots across Kerala tomorrow as part of the 100th-day celebrations of the KSRTC's Priyadarshini scheme are false, Transport Minister C.P. John said. The minister clarified that only a celebration programme has been planned and that saree distribution is not part of it.

Earlier, reports had said that sarees would be distributed to women at all KSRTC depots in the state to mark 100 days since the launch of the Priyadarshini scheme. It was also reported that 15 sarees would be distributed at each depot.

The 100th-day celebration of the Priyadarshini scheme will be held at 10 am tomorrow at the Thampanoor KSRTC terminal in Thiruvananthapuram. Transport Minister C.P. John will inaugurate the programme.
