What happens in case of a terrorist attack in Sabarimala? Mock drill jointly conducted by special team from Delhi and police

PATHANAMTHITTA: The mock drill jointly conducted by NSG commandos, the Kerala Police Commando Unit and the district police at Sabarimala Sannidhanam and Pampa was successful. The purpose of this is to train on how to carry out rescue operations in the event of a terrorist attack in the highly secure Sabarimala area.

About 150 NSG commandos from Delhi, 30 from the Kerala Police Commando Unit and 50 officers from the district police participated in the mock drill. District Police Chief R Anand IPS and high-ranking NSG officials led the drill. DySPs and SHOs of Pathanamthitta district attended the mock drill.

Special training was conducted at Sannidhanam and Pampa. The training was conducted to safely release people taken hostage in the terrorist attack through a commando operation and to subdue the terrorists.
