
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet meeting decided to recommend to the Governor the appointment of N Seshadrinathan as the State Election Commissioner. Seshadrinathan, a native of Ernakulam, is a retired district judge.
He has served as the Kavaratti Principal District Sessions Judge, Ernakulam CBI Court Judge, Cooperative Tribunal, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Judge in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam, and Chief Judicial Magistrate in Ernakulam. After retiring last May, he is serving as the Irinjalakuda Family Court Judge.
N. Anilkumar will be appointed as the Lokayukta Special Government Pleader, while four Special Government Pleaders, 12 Senior Government Pleaders and 24 Government Pleaders will also be appointed. Pleaders will be appointed in the High Court. The families of three Kudumbashree workers who died when the wall of the Shivaji Nagar Hospital building collapsed in Bengaluru will be allocated Rs five lakhs each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
The cabinet decided to extend the tenure of 243 posts in the six Special Land Registration Offices of Idukki, Karimannoor, Kattappana, Murickassery, Nedumkandam, and Rajakumari. The families of the three people who died in a road accident in Kottarakkara's Nileshwaram will be given financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh each. The government will bear the medical expenses of the injured.
