Two youngsters die tragically as bike hits pickup van in Kottarakkara

KOLLAM: Two youngsters died in a road accident after the bike they travelled collided with a pickup van in Kottarakkara Perumkulam. The victims were identified as Ashiq.B.Anil (19) of Sandhya Bhavan in Poovattoor East and B.Lalkrishna (20) of Biju Sadanam in Perumkulam.

The accident took place in front of CSI Church near Perumkulam Radio Junction at 4.30 pm yesterday. The pickup van was heading towards Poovattoor from Kottarakkara. Ashiq and Lalkrishna were coming from the opposite direction on a bike. The bike, which was coming uphill, hit the side of the oncoming pickup and overturned. Both of them were thrown to the ground and suffered serious head injuries.

Although the two were immediately rushed to the hospital, their lives could not be saved. Ashiq is the son of Anilkumar and Bindu. He is a student of Adoor ITI. Brother: Amruth.

Lalkrishna is the son of M.Biju and Anu. Sister: Ramyakrishnan. The bodies have been shifted to the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital morgue.
