THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vinodini, wife of late CPI (M) leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, has openly criticized the party leadership, alleging that she faced serious neglect from senior leaders after her husband's death. She opened up in an interview with Pachakuthira magazine. She also made an indirect criticism of CPM state secretary M V Govindan.
‘I am not talking about ordinary party workers. I am referring to some senior leaders. It's not that they should come here and meet us. Has this become a time when you don't feel like picking up the phone from your pocket and talk? I repeatedly called an important leader of the party to discuss an important matter, it was not to seek any favor, but he neither answered the calls nor called back.
I don’t know whether he may have thought that I was calling for a personal matter. I am just saying about my experiences I faced in the past four years since the death of Kodiyeri, who had served as home minister, state secretary, and politburo member. I am just saying about the approach towards my family,’ Vinodini said in the interview.
