THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State secretary Kanam Rajendran said the CPI will contest in 25 seats. The candidates are G R Anil in Nedumangad, V Shashi in Chiryankeezhu, G S Jayalal in Chathanur, P S Supal in Punalur, R Ramachandran in Karunagapally, P Prasad in Cherthala, C K Asha in Vaikkom, Vazhoor Soman in Peerumedu, P Balachandran in Thrissur, K Rajan in Ollur, E T Tyson in Kaiapamangalam, V R Sunil Kumar in Kodungalloor, Suresh Raj in Mannarcaud, Abdul Nazar in Mancheri, Ajith Kolodi in Tirurangadi, KT Abdul Rehman in Eranad, E K Vijayan in Nadapuram, E Chandrasekharan in Kanhangad, Eldho Abraham in Moovattupuzha, Chittayam Gopakumar in Adoor and Muhammed Muhsin in Pattambi.

Kanam said the candidates in Chadayamangalam, Haripad, Paravoor and Nattika will be announced in two days. When asked about the controversy in the party, Kanam said that even under a milky udder, blood is a mosquito's curiosity. In Changanaserry, no one has won after me. It is a constituency that has been losing for thirty years and that is why the seat is given to the Kerala Congress, he said.

The party's sitting seats have not been lost as a result of any party coming. Even if you get more seats, you can lose. Candidates are not announced on the basis of age. If you think the CPM loves Kerala Congress, you can think so, he said.

C K Asha contesting from Vaikkom seat is the only woman who have found place in the list. The state council has been criticized for it. The question arose in the council as to whether the national stand taken by the party on women's reservation was a farce. Youth representation is also not in the list. AIYF leaders have also no place in the list.
