Malayali student found dead in Bengaluru; body in decomposed state, family lodges complaint

BENGALURU: A student hailing from Wayanad has been found dead in his apartment in Bengaluru. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Shamil (23), the son of Meppadi native TM Nishad. Shamil was found hanging in his apartment in Rajanukunte. He was a third-year BBA student at the Mathikere MS Ramaiah College.

Shamil was alone in the apartment as his roommates had gone home on Friday. Upon returning to the apartment on Sunday, the roommates saw Shamil's body in a decomposed state. Rajanukunte police carried out an inquest. The post-mortem was carried out at Ambedkar Medical College. The body was later taken home with the help of the All India Kerala Muslim Cultural Center (AIKMCC).

Rajanukunte police have registered a case on the complaint lodged by Shamil's relatives. Mother- Waheeda, siblings- Afrin Mohammad and Tanveer Ahmed.
