KOCHI: A minor boy and his family, that courted a controversy by chanting hate slogans during a Popular Front rally, have gone into hiding. Although the police were able to identify the child, they were not able to locate him. The Ernakulam City Police Commissioner said that the child who shouted the slogan was a native of Palluruthy in Ernakulam. Police said the boy was brought to the rally by his father.
Although the police arrived at the child's house in Ernakulam, the house was locked. The investigation team has expanded the search. The video of the child chanting provocative slogans had spread through social media. Following this, the incident became controversial. Police identified the boy four days after the incident.
At present, there are three accused in the case. Popular Front district secretary Mujeeb Yakub is the second accused. Police will soon register a case against the child's father. It is learned that the accused have also been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act.
