RPF arrests Malappuram native for smuggling gold worth around Rs 44 lakh inside condom

THRISSUR: A native of Malappuram was arrested by the Railway Protection Force for trying to smuggle gold in liquid form inside a condom. The arrested has been identified as Manikandan (35), a native of Vengadu. The attempt was to smuggle gold weighing 1.4 kg.

The person accused of the crime tried to smuggle the gold in Parasuram Express. The police informed that the gold would be worth around Rs 44 lakh.

Last day, police seized gold worth Rs 47 lakh from a native of Malappuram near Karipur airport. The person arrested has been identified as Jamsheer, a native of Valancherry who had come from Dubai.

Jamsheer had smuggled 854 grams of gold mixture in three capsules by hiding it near his private parts. The accused was arrested when he left the airport after the customs check.
