KOCHI: The Kerala High Court considered the plea filed by Vipanchika's maternal aunt requesting to bring her body to Kerala. The court asked why the body should be brought to Kerala. Doesn’t her husband have the legal right to the body. How can such an order be passed when her husband is alive?
Vipanchika's maternal aunt has mentioned in the plea that she is filing the plea on behalf of her mother and that she approached the high court as her relatives are abroad. The deaths of Vipanchika and her child deaths are suspected to be a murder. Vipanchika's husband Nidheesh is presently trying to cremate the body in Sharjah itself. It should be stopped and allow to bring the body to Kerala. The plea said Vipanchika had faced severe harassment from her husband and relatives since the day of her marriage. Moreover, she demanded a proper investigation into the death.
The plea was considered by a bench of Justice N Nagaresh. The death occurred abroad. The police there would be investigating. The legal right to the body belongs to the husband there. Therefore, the court expressed doubts in interfering on the matter. Vipanchika's husband and the Indian Embassy should be made parties in the case. The court said that it will take a decision after getting the reply tomorrow.
