THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A plea has been filed seeking disqualification of Travancore Devaswom Board President K Jayakumar pointing dual posts. B Ashok IAS filed the plea in the Thiruvananthapuram District Court. The plea alleged that becoming board president while serving as the director of the Institute of Management in Government (IMG) is against rules.

However, K Jayakumar said that there is no dual post and there is no violation of law in becoming the board president. Jayakumar clarified that he is not getting any benefits from both posts and that a new person will be appointed as the IMG director after the election. As soon as a new director is appointed, will relinquish the post. He added that he is not drawing any salaries for the posts he is serving and that will convince the court about it.

Meantime, the response of B Ashok IAS is that Jayakumar's appointment is a violation of the law. He should have relinquished his director post before taking charge as board president. B Ashok said Jayakumar's appointment as IMG director is also a violation of the rules.
