NEW DELHI: The tussle over the seat is finally reaching a conclusion as a report emerged that the high command may grant exemption to MPs K Sudhakaran and Adoor Prakash to contest the assembly elections. If this happens, K Sudhakaran will contest from Kannur and Adoor Prakash from Konni. Sudhakaran had applied for a no-obligation certificate from Kerala House. Adoor Prakash had already received a no-obligation certificate.
Last night, KC Venugopal, Shafi Parambil, and A P Anilkumar made a last-ditch effort to persuade Sudhakaran, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, it is almost confirmed that Kowdiar councillor K S Sabarinadhan will contest in the Nemom constituency, while VS Sivakumar will take the fight in Aruvikkara. After CP John was given the Thiruvananthapuram seat, Sivakumar had been demanding Aruvikkara from the leadership.
