KOZHIKODE: Arjun’s family requested the officials including the army to conduct simultaneous search operations in the hill slide debris and river Gangavali. Meanwhile, Anju, sister of Arjun, responded to the media saying that the family has lost all hope and is clueless on what form they will get back Arjun.
Anju:
“If no progress is made in today’s rescue operation, it will be the end of our hope. We don’t know whether we will see him again. We need a little shred of evidence to know what happened to him.
Those people at the disaster site have told us to drop all hope, as they believe no miracle to happen. We have no trust in the rescue operations. We don’t want to blame anyone now but it was unacceptable of them to delay the rescue operations. It was only through the media intervention that the nation came to know about this disaster.
The officials should not stop the search at the landslide as we still believe him to be under the debris. The GPS of the vehicle was also located at that spot. But now all our hopes have faded away."
Meanwhile, scuba divers are searching the dune area of the Gangavali River. The Navy will deliver more equipment for testing. Uttara Kannada District Collector Lakshmi Priya cast doubted the vehicle to be submerged in the water. The collector while responding to media expressed '99 per cent' certitude about the vehicle not being under the debris in Shiroor.
