PATHANAMTHITTA: The details of the remand report against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, arrested in the third rape case, has surfaced. The remand report says the accused is a habitual offender and if he is released, there is a possibility of him endangering the survivors. The police said in the report that since the accused is an MLA, there is a possibility of destroying evidence and influencing witnesses. The accused is not cooperating with the investigation. The report also says that he refused to change the phone lock.

Rahul abused her on the pretext of marriage. He abused her brutally after inviting her to a luxurious hotel in Thiruvalla. The report said he beat her cruelly. The complainant is 31 years old.

Rahul was arrested Sunday early morning. Rahul was produced before the magistrate and remanded after a medical examination. The Pathanamthitta District Magistrate Court has remanded him for 14 days. He has been shifted to Mavelikkara Special Jail. Rahul was arrested on the complaint of a Malayali woman living abroad.

The police brought Rahul out of the hospital in a very daring manner. Rahul had filed a bail plea, but the magistrate court had rejected it. DYFI and Yuva Morcha activists are protesting against Rahul after following him. Protesters tried to manhandle him while he was entering the hospital for a medical examination.
