THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A thief entered a petrol pump in Palayam in the capital city and decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh. He barged into the office of the pump and fled with Rs 1.5 lakh. The incident happened Monday morning.

A theft had occurred earlier at the same petrol pump located along M G Road. According to the CCTV footage, only one employee was present at the pump at the time of the theft today. Taking advantage of this, the thief managed to steal Rs 1.5 lakh, which was the collection amount for three days, and fled the scene.

An investigation has been launched to determine whether the same person who committed the previous theft is behind this incident as well. As soon as the incident was reported, forensic experts, including fingerprint specialists, arrived and collected evidence. The investigation is being conducted by the Museum Police.
