THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the tipper lorry accident in Kottarakkara, the state is planning to form a post-accident investigation team. A special investigation team will be appointed in each district to investigate all major accidents in the state. The cabinet will soon approve the proposal of the transport minister.

The special team will be formed including RTO officials, police inspectors, PWD or national highways engineer, NATPAC officials, etc. of the district. This team will be known as the post-crash investigation team. The main thing is that each official in the team will conduct a separate investigation into the accident.

While the police conduct their own investigation, the PWD will conduct an investigation into matters related to the road. The transport department has indicated that the investigation will be conducted by coordinating the investigations of everyone.
