THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The parole period of Annan Sijith, the convict in the murder case of RMP founder leader TP Chandrasekharan, has been extended. The DGP of Jails had granted emergency parole for 30 days. The parole was granted after the death of a relative. The government has ordered an extension of parole for another 15 days, based on a request made to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Earlier, KK Rama had questioned in the Assembly the granting of parole to Kodi Suni, the main accused in the case. "The government swears 24 hours a day that it has nothing to do with the case. However, the government keeps saying that it does not have the facilities to keep the accused in jail. How come only the accused in the TP case are getting parole like this," Rama asked. Rama's questions were while sharing the details of the parole granted to the accused in the TP case. "The accused named KC Ramachandran got parole for 1308 days. The accused named Annan Sijith got parole for 1305 days. Trouser Manoj got parole for 1295 days and TK Rajish got parole for 1167 days," Rama had pointed out. "You are protecting them by granting them parole because they have fulfilled what you said," Rama criticized the government.
