THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A tense situation is prevailing in the assembly in connection with the gold theft in Sabarimala. The tension escalated when opposition MLAs Anwar Sadath and Saneesh Kumar tried to barge into Speaker A N Shamseer's podium while Minister V Sivankutty was speaking. With this, the Watch and Ward arrived and removed the Speaker from his seat. The ruling and opposition MLAs stood up from their seats shouting at each other.

The house has been adjourned. There is a possibility to suspend Anwar Sadath and Saneesh Kumar. The tense situation in the House has been continuing since this morning. Still, the Speaker gave permission for the question hour.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan told the assembly that the investigation by the special investigation team in the Sabarimala gold theft case has been hampered and that the chief minister's office is interfering in the investigation. The Speaker warned that the banner raised by the opposition in the house should be lowered or else it will be seized.

Minister M B Rajesh responded that due to a lack of substantive issues, the opposition does not even have a single matter worthy of an adjournment motion. The ruling party almost reached the center stage and shouted slogans against the opposition.
