THRISSUR: The police will not file a case against Union Minister Suresh Gopi for alleged irregularities in the Lok Sabha election voter list. The police clarified that they had no evidence or documents to file a case. The police action was taken on a complaint filed by former MP and Congress leader TN Prathapan regarding the inclusion of Suresh Gopi and his family in the voter list in Thrissur.

Prathapan, in his complaint, alleged that Suresh Gopi and his family had shifted their votes to Thrissur by forging documents. The complaint was filed with the City Police Commissioner on August 12. The police informed that they could not register a case after conducting a preliminary investigation into the complaint.

The police also advised TN Prathapan to file the case with the Election Commission. The police clarified that they will reconsider filing a case once they receive more documents from the district administration or the Election Commission.
