'Had causal talks with Kurien sir, also met Ramesh Chennithala in Perunna', says Rahul Mamkootathil MLA

PATHANAMTHITTA: Rahul Mamkootathil MLA reacted to senior Congress leader PJ Kurien's comments suggesting the youngster be considered to contest from Palakkad in the 2026 assembly elections. Rahul Mamkootathil said every person has the freedom to express their opinion.

“P J Kurien told me that the news that appeared in the media was twisted and misconstrued. PJ Kurien is one of the most senior political leaders in Kerala in terms of age and position. I am nobody to question Kurien sir. He has all the right in the world to express his opinion," said Rahul.

On Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala's absence.

“My interaction with Ramesh Chennithala is not going to affect the people of Kerala in any way. I had a lot of discussions with leaders, including Ramesh Chennithala in Perunna yesterday," Rahul clarified.

P J Kurien, who earlier asked the leadership not to allow a seat for Rahul Mamkootathil in the upcoming polls, had a change of heart after meeting the young leader at Perunna yesterday.
