NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Kerala is currently witnessing a wave in favour of the BJP. He said that Kerala is set to create a new history and that people are mentally prepared not just for a new government, but for a new system. The Prime Minister made these remarks during an interaction with BJP workers in the state.
"Strong efforts are being made for the BJP’s victory in Thiruvananthapuram. I witnessed great enthusiasm among the public during a recent event in Palakkad. There is a favourable wave for the BJP in Thrissur as well. Thiruvananthapuram has set an example for the rest of Kerala," Modi said. He further stated that he will visit Kerala again the day after tomorrow as part of the election campaign.
The Prime Minister also referred to the Sabarimala gold theft controversy. He alleged that the gold from Sabarimala was stolen and that it was a betrayal of faith. He cautioned people to remain vigilant against both political fronts.
"The Congress brought embarrassment to the country during events such as the AI summit. The party is making inappropriate statements even during sensitive situations like the West Asian conflict. They are making such remarks just for political gain. Both the Left and the Congress-led fronts believe they can retain power regardless of poor governance. However, things would change this time," he said.
Modi urged party workers to explain to the people how central government schemes were allegedly obstructed by both fronts. However, the Prime Minister did not make any remarks regarding the FCRA controversy.
