THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The committee of traders and businessmen rounded up the secretariat in protest against the budget that bruised the trader community at large. Thousands of traders joined the rally by shutting down their shops in protest. The KVVE state president Raju Apsara inaugurated the protest and asked the government to take back the draconian taxes induced against the traders in the last budget, which he said is fanning the flames for the traders to shift their base to other states. He also warned about adopting more stronger ways of protest if the government shows restraint.
The need from the committee also involves cutting down on fuel prices, and water, electricity charges and also bringing down the queries associated with getting the health card.
