THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The University of Kerala has withdrawn the recently published results of the FYUGP Semester 4 and Semester 1 supplementary examinations following several errors in the results. The decision was taken by the university Syndicate. The university has also decided to discontinue the K-REAP software, which was blamed for the errors, and restore the software developed and operated by the university’s Computer Centre.

Several errors were reported in the results, including students being unable to view their results through their profiles, results being generated for non-existent subjects, manipulation of marks in improvement examinations and students who had failed being shown as having passed.

K-REAP was developed by Maharashtra-based Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL) and was implemented jointly by the Kerala State Higher Education Council and the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP).

The University of Kerala does not have a direct MoU or agreement with the company. The university has also not received the data related to the examinations conducted so far through the software. This has raised concerns over the security of examination data and student information.

The university’s Computer Centre has no control over the K-REAP software and therefore cannot directly intervene in complaints related to it.

The university had decided to introduce K-REAP for examination-related activities despite having its own system in operation. The decision to hand over examination-related operations to a private agency without prior experience in conducting university examinations has now led to serious concerns over errors in the results.
